Our founder was an operating executive at a $5 Billion Global SI where he built the Salesforce practice and elevated the company to Platinum level in just 4 years. In this experience, he worked with a lot of large and small organizations and helped them implement Salesforce. What he realized, became the fundamental founding principle for Bolt Today.

Salesforce partners take one of the two approaches to solve customer problems. The consulting partners’ approach is to showcase their experience in solving similar problems and bottom-line is to provide skilled labor. Whereas the Technology partners push their products and try to convince the customers that with minimal customization it will solve their problem.

However if you analyze any customer’s Salesforce org, you will notice that there are on an average 8 products (managed packages) and a lot of customization. This clearly indicates that neither pure-play vanilla Services nor the niche Products truly solve the customer’s business problems.

The customer only cares about solving their problems, and hence the approach that works the best is to have the ability to provide business-outcome-based solutions. We call them Bolt Solutions. These Bolt Solutions can be and most of the time will be a combination of products and services. Furthermore our approach is to start with the end in mind. What this means is to document the business success metrics for each and every stakeholder, and then build the Bolt Solutions with clear traceability to these success metrics.

We started our journey with McGraw Hill Financials (now called S&P Global) and helped one of their companies Platts migrate from Oracle to Salesforce. As this looks trivial in the Salesforce world, S&P selected Bolt based on one of its fundamental principle that typical lift & shift approach won’t give them much benefit. Bolt’s approach was to analyze and optimize the business processes to devise the bite-sized delivery plan that will give tangible ROI after every release. The CFO funded the plan based on this approach, and the program was a huge success.

The foundation of the company was established. The first Bolt Solution was created – Bolt Metrics. The primary objective of Bolt Metrics was to help the Salesforce users do their job better. The framework has multiple aspects that can help organizations improve user adoption, data quality, and the insights they can generate from Salesforce. The first Bolt Product was also created and hosted on AppExchange – Bolt Connections; to help sellers and Sales Management map their customer’s organization and understand who are the key stakeholders, what level of relationships their sellers have developed with them, and where are the blind spots that can risk on closing the deals.

The success continues. We have over multiple Bolt Solutions across Sales, Service and Communities, and over 5 Bolt Products in making. We have established the Global Delivery center in India, and the UK.
